About Modern Physiotherapy Clinic
Maryam Aminitehrani
Director & Principal Physiotherapist
Maryam Aminitehrani is the Director and Principal Physiotherapist at Modern Physiotherapy Clinic, bringing extensive clinical experience, advanced rehabilitation expertise and a strong academic foundation in neuroscience to her physiotherapy practice.
Maryam completed her Master of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University and subsequently undertook two years of PhD research in Neuroscience at Monash University. Her background in both clinical physiotherapy and neuroscience has shaped a thoughtful, evidence-informed approach to understanding pain, movement, function and recovery.
Her clinical approach is centred on careful assessment, strong clinical reasoning and individualised rehabilitation. Maryam combines hands-on physiotherapy, progressive exercise rehabilitation, patient education and contemporary treatment technologies where clinically appropriate, with a strong focus on helping patients understand their condition and actively participate in their recovery.
Known for her clear communication, thorough approach and warm manner, Maryam works closely with patients to identify meaningful goals and develop practical treatment and rehabilitation strategies aimed at improving movement, physical capacity, confidence and everyday function.
As Director and Principal Physiotherapist, Maryam has played a central role in the growth and clinical direction of Modern Physiotherapy Clinic, helping establish the clinic as a trusted destination for patients from Ascot Vale, Moonee Ponds, Essendon and surrounding suburbs, as well as people travelling from across Melbourne and regional Victoria for specialised physiotherapy, pain management and advanced rehabilitation.
Her broad clinical experience and access to advanced rehabilitation technologies have contributed to a diverse patient base extending well beyond the clinic’s immediate local area, including people seeking care from metropolitan Melbourne, regional centres and other parts of Victoria.
Maryam continues to guide the clinic’s emphasis on high-quality, evidence-informed and individualised care, while supporting the development of advanced rehabilitation services and the integration of carefully selected specialist services within the Modern Physiotherapy Clinic model of care.
Patients often value Maryam’s professionalism, depth of knowledge, clear explanations and genuine commitment to their progress — qualities that continue to shape the clinical standards and patient experience at Modern Physiotherapy Clinic.

Expanding the Modern Physiotherapy Clinic Model of Care
Modern Physiotherapy Clinic continues to evolve beyond traditional physiotherapy by bringing carefully selected specialist services into our established rehabilitation environment.
Specialist Pain Medicine is the first addition to our Specialist Services, providing patients with access to specialist medical assessment alongside physiotherapy and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate.
Each practitioner maintains independent clinical decision-making, while communication between treating practitioners can support a more coordinated pathway of care with patient consent.
