WorkCover Physiotherapy
If you have sustained an injury at work, you may be entitled to physiotherapy treatment paid for by WorkSafe. WorkSafe can pay the reasonable costs of physiotherapy services when required as a result of a work-related injury or illness under Victorian Worker’s compensation legislation.
At Modern Physiotherapy Clinic, we understand this can be a stressful and difficult time, but we are here to help. With our vast experience and expertise in dealing with Workcover cases, we can share our knowledge and provide support to help you experience a smooth journey to recovery.
For more information about how to lodge a claim in case of a work-related injury, you may visit the WorkSafe Victoria website.
FAQs:
1. How do I book an appointment?
It is important to lodge a Workcover claim which will be reviewed. Once your claim has been reviewed, you’ll be given a WorkSafe claim number – you’ll need this to book your WorkSafe Physiotherapy appointment. When you contact Modern Physiotherapy Clinic to make that appointment, make sure you give that claim number and WorkCover details to the receptionist!
Your health is of the upmost importance, and therefore if you require a physiotherapy session prior to the approval of your Workcover claim, you should seek treatment as soon as possible. Costs of any physical injury can later be covered by workers’ compensation if your claim is accepted.
2. What is a certificate of capacity, and do I need one?
A certificate of capacity is an official document that describes your injury, illness, capacity to work, and any limitations you have to perform your regular work tasks.
If you are making a claim for weekly payments (money paid to you for time off work), or are not able to perform your pre-injury employment, you must have a Certificate of Capacity. However, if you are claiming for treatment expenses only, you do NOT require one.
The initial certificate must be completed by a medical practitioner; however, all subsequent certificates can be completed by a medical practitioner or physiotherapist.
